Art resources (3d based, but not limited to)

General artist resources and links These resources are for digital artists leaning to the 3d side side of things. (I am a blender user and only use free software, there will be no links for paid software such as Maya.  That being said, this read should benefit most artists in the digital world.  There will be resources that are both free for people like me, and $$$ for people that have money. . .) Blender specific resources located on this resources page. Links Architecture Get inspired, books you need and average room sizes. Architectural Digest:   Top notch architecture feed. Top 6 free to play games you need to try (PC)

Free PC games 2019 My favorite games of the year (by order)   The Cycle:     The Cycle      "The Cycle is a Competitive Quest Shooter (PvEvP) which offers a combination that has never been explored before: a heart-racing PvE struggle against a treacherous planet and its unfriendly alien inhabitants amidst a cutthroat PvP struggle for resource supremacy. You compete against other Prospectors, or perhaps collaborate with them, to claim as much resources as possible and escape Fortuna III before the planet crushes the life out of you. Victory goes to the Prospector that completes the most contracts during the match and manages to evacuate the planet in time. In theory, you can play the game without any PvP at all. Apart from warding off player hunters who might be roaming the planet, the best reason to engage in PvP is to obtain certain objectives for yourself or stop a Prospector who finished more contracts than you!"...

Getting started with Blender

New to Blender?  No problem. The bare bones. Blender is a very hard, but at the same time a very easy software.  It takes a while to learn the key mapping, but for the most part the interface is straight forward and blender has a strong community.      Doughnut tutorial:   This tutorial is widely known in the blender community and for a good reason.  It goes over the majority of base principles used in 3d.  You can find other renders of other newbies and pros all over the internet, look it up and see how you compare to others!      Hot keys:   Hot keys are very necessary in most software, but blender, you shouldn't even use it if you can figure them out. . .  To me the most necessary keys are:      - SHIFT + A  pulls up the object list.  Add cubes, lights curves etc. . . all from this menu      - N  Properties      - T...

Blender (2.81) Setting it up.

Set up.    Blender, a free 3d and 2d software used for modeling, sculpting, animation, drawing, texturing shading and more! Blender 2.81 launch screen      Blender is an outstanding free software that continues to grow rapidly and is gaining more and more attention!  Check out my blog on how to get started with blender here. My Suggested Setup   This is my start up file for blender 2.81.  Everything is up to personal opinion, though humor me and consider some of these settings. System Preferences       When opening blender for the first time I suggest running to your system preferences.    Go to the upper left of your blender and click edit, scroll down to preferences and click that.  Setting changes will vary based on your computer, though I would look at and change these two settings: Cycles render devices and undo steps.  Change your render settings comparatively t...
